Can any one actually verify that it is a GENUINE SANDMAN!!
I just bought the Empire of the Sun van for Annie to do the shopping in(LOL) and although it was not advertised as a Sandman, it looks nothin like their promo pics on the web site!!
Twin headlights, front spoiler etc!!

We reckon the promo pics were doctored pics of the Sea Witch!!
Im still happy with the Van though agree that what is advertised is not always what you get!!
You just need to look at a Maccas Menu Pic to know that!!

I've seen that white one very recently somewhere. Same colour, wheels etc. I think it was on ebay in Wagga or something like that. Either that or it was just an identical van. From memory it was real and bidding was ended early so maybe Schweppes bought it to give away.

Yes correct. That Van in the pic is one that sold recently on ebay I believe. I was going out to buy a lotto ticket to buy it so I remember it haha.
Lotto didnt win by the way! Doh!

But the worring thing about it was the 2200kg GVW. Was not a brissy built car either.
It was one of those "sandmans" that had a 2 seat cap. So if all the GTS gear, headlinging etc is in there there is nothing proving it not to be a sandman. But there was nothing sticking out to me to prove it was.

I did really consider that van. But did not buy because of the GVW.

Gaddy the empire of the sun van looked completley different in their promo stuff and I think you were right on the money with the doctored seawitch photo.. I think it also said it was a wb on the website

i hope they didnt pay $40K like the bloke wanted for it and it did come with the GTS rims that used to be on it.

Although I haven't actually seen it, this van is being prepared here in Canberra. Was talking to a guy this morning who is a mate of the bloke doing the work on it. Pretty sure he said is was from QLD....and that it drove like a dream.
