    Heater box types

    My existing Heater box has been cracked/scratched beyond repair.

    As I don't have a HX or HZ catalogue I'm wondering if they are the same type across the HJ-HZ series?

    Some pic of the different types would be good. My HX has a rusted out flap on the inside, and the WB one I have will bolt in to replace it, but it is very different on the inside.

    HJ parts catalogue breaks the heater box into 2 types;

    1. Heater and Demister (exc forced air).
    2. Heater and Demister (forced air ventilation).

    Both the heater box housing assembly and motor have the same part numbers for the 2 different types.

    Housing assembly - 9933332
    Motor assembly - 9931065

    ... more to come. Need time to read full list.

    Frome memory they are all the same. Fans differ, but the actual cases shouldn't change. I have never looked close enough (or cared!) to investigate it though.

    My parts books lists an "Elmaco" and a "Smith" heater system. There are a few part numbers that are unique to each, but most parts look to be interchangable.

    i finally pulled finger and went and looked at my shelf of heater box housings for the engine bay side..i couldnt quite remember the differences but knew there was more than one type...
    2 types of outer heater boxes.
    1 has a resistor which a 3 pin wiring plug goes to which is hq
    and 1 does not...which is hj hx hz wb..
    2 types of heater cores with different size tubes going thru the outer box,1 has small and large and 1 has both same size..just change grommets to suit.
    also fans differ because of wiring as above.
