No I dont mean an Adventura, I want something full chassis with some ground clearance and a V8. Something along the lines of a HZ one tonner with Overlander conversion but more modern.

I have contemplated doing that too. By getting a GQ Patrol chassis and a V8 VZ 1-tonner. Buying a Marks 4x4 4L65E to GQ transfer adapter. And then putting it all together. As the V8 and 4L65E are stock to the VZ it will all connect up perfectly. Back half of tonner chassis unbolts. Just needs a steering column to steering box conversion, power steering pump to steering box conversion. Indentifying a 1.25" bore master cylinder that will fit the VZ booster, and making up lines. Handbrake adaptation. Getting the transfer stick into the cabin (possibly a solenoid conversion). And of course the body mounts and tray mounts, but these would be simple. Not sure if you could do it by leaving the VZ K-frame in place or if you'd have to mount the engine onto the Patrol chassis (this would probably be the case anyway).
In the end, with 2 x chassis numbers what would it be?
It would make a great vehicle. As for the two chassis numbers, well that would be interesting!
Too many good project ideas and not enough lifetimes!
On the VZ the chassis number is the VIN on the plate under the windscreen, and you can't remove it. GQ has it's chassis number on the chassis. So it is a funny situation, as you have actually kept the VZ "chassis" as such, only removed the back bit that holds the leaf springs.
