I should add that it was actually December 1990 so it was only just the 90's. Still hanging on to the 80's!

Right on the point of change for the length of shorts too - thank god we got rid of the Warwick Capper shorts..... The "trucker" caps are definitely 80s!

But it proves one thing - the GTS/Rally rim is a timeless design!
It looked good when new, looked good in 1990, and still looks good today.

Yeah have to agree, Sandmans are a time machine! Look good in any decade, unlike the clothes we wear when driving them :Rasta:

I think those caps with the flat brim all the dudes were wearing the last couple of years were pretty uncool. They will get a laugh when they look back at them!

yees thank goodness my son missed that skater boy look where they wear them sideways, not a good look, but he did wear a truckie hat....

When that pic was taken I had a 2month old baby...and drove a HZ wagon complete with roof rack....at least none of those fellows had a mullet....

I did my apprenticeship in the mid-late 80's and I remember a plumbing mob in Geelong who had at least 2 HZ Jasmine yellow Sandman panelvans. They used to roll up to Alcoa on a regular basis. The vans were always in mint condition! I intend to put my van to work one day. It will display my business name, will be some what decked out to suit my work (sparky), will only come out on good days and will not get roof racks, can't weight

The Sandman vehicles are a good mobile billboard. There are a few different vehicles getting around here, and they do really catch your attention.
