and all the unobtanium.....:lol:
That he could use good 2nd hand stuff and sell the NOS stuff off to GTS freaks!

so True!!
i think you will have to spend around $12K for HJ-X and around $15 K for HQ or HZ
to find decent matching numbers suit resto...
"All correspondence must bear these numbers"
Adam is about right, although I'd put HQ and HJ as the more expensive and HX and HZ as the cheaper options (especially HX). All worth having though.
My budget isn't a fixed amount and the car I end up buying may or may not be numbers matching. I am just putting my feelers out there to see what is available for this sort of money.
My thinking is HQ because it is the rarest, and HJ for many reasons:
Still had GTS guards;
Nicest single headlight front;
Pre emissions engines expecially 1974 examples with no canister;
No ugly coloured stripes;
All had GTS rims.
HZ has it's benefits in RTS and chin spoiler though, but only had GTS rims for half of the run and got an uglier steering wheel. All in the eye of the beholder I suppose!
I think you'll find in the end that the Sandmans will follow the values of their GTS counterparts, with HQ being the most sought after by far, followed by HJ, then HZ and then the ugly duckling (but good value) HX. At least the HX Sandman didn't get the awful side treatment like HX GTS and LX SLR5000.
at this stage it looks like my hq sandman is sold pending inspection of the body... which i know is good....![]()
100 per cent sold...im glad its going to be restored by someone so passionate and a desire to do it anally like i planned to....![]()
Good to hear.
When is it getting picked up?
