Looking at the body plate and with your other information I'd say there is a 90% certainty it is a genuine Sandy man......

Interesting body plate. That one is stamped while all the others that I seem to recall (short memory) were reverse stamped.
Are these common?

It is common in Adelaide built cars and bodies up until late HJ.... seems to have changed to reversed stamped from around 1-76 onwards.

looks like the 7 on the WM70 has been tampered with, and it was a 6 (1 tonner WM 60 )

I am no expert but that plate looks tampered with. There seems to be a reverse pressed block around the main numbers and the whole plate looks very thin because it's been rubbed back.

In regards to the plate looking thin thats because I rubbed it back with metal polish and steel wool as it was covered in overspray which you can still see around some of the lettering due to the fact when I first took a photo of it the lettering was hard to distinguish so gave it clean.

Hey mate I'm not suggesting you've done a dogey. Just never seen a stamp like that before with the couple 'funny' things. But as it's been said they have been around before. ;)
