Only Kingswoods ans Statesmans had grooves. They had to look hard to find something to make the kingswood and standard different!

interesting.
i wonder if it came in with an ADR or something.?
I feel the Standard fitment on Kingswoods for HZ and above spec is correct too. from what i have seen .
but most of the cars i get are rusted pieces of crap for wrecking, so its hard to tell
so where does this leave a 1979 sandman? - as its a belmont.??
It is not anything to do with adr's. Just plain old kingswood and statesman thing. If anyone has a wb parts book they could have a look and see if there are two different part numbers for the door handles in the wb series.

i wonder if the HZ handles changed with the chassis number series prefix or whatchmacallit.
e.g BHZ12345M
to
CHZ12346M?
Maybe they changed the same time as the dash top changed patterns to the commodore style...
