I agree that a drivers record should determine the third party personal price. Age also needs to be taken into account. Which means with all my speeding fines I would still pay through the nose.
Too much restriction for me. Only driving to and from club events?
Yes, but what is a club event ? As long as it's listed in your club magazine, it's a club event.
What we do is use the CMC calendar of events, because we are affiliated with them. We reprint that on the events page in our magazine. This includes all relevant swap meets etc. plus you then add any event that your own club organizes & that gives you plenty of scope. As far as the club is concerned if it's on the list, then our members can attend it.
All the big swap meets & shows are automatically included because they're on the CMC list, this means you can legally drive your car to any of these events. I think it's pretty simple really, if you want to drive your car to the XYZ car show, just make sure it's listed in your club magazine.

You would have ZERO trouble where you live driving a historically registered vehicle as much as you wanted.
Those of us that live rurally can take advantage of the "maintenance run" clause. I take my Valiant for a drive to Moruya (15kms away) or Batemans Bay (25kms away) for "maintenance runs" frequently and have never been pulled over. I think if you parked in the same carpark at work every day there may be a chance you'd be noticed, but as long as you write the run in your log book and can provide a reason for being where you are there's no problem. (It's amazing how often my Valiant needs a 'tune-up"!!!.....)![]()
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
The Internet is shocking for myths. In the last week we have had the Magnum ute one re-hashed and we have an interior colour discussion going again which unfortunately would have been discussed years ago on here and already solved. The Internet is worse for car miss-information than the pub. Once it's printed it seems to be accepted as truth.
I thought the whole point of forums so we can find out info on these great cars
sorry if i asked to many interior questions just trying to get it right is there any harm in asking NO
sheesh
You can't find things easily. They might have been three pages into a thread titled How long is a piece of string. Never to be found again.
That's exactly the point of forums Glacier, friendly opinion and friendly advice, friendly difference of opinions, not just a place for the pointy heads but a place to exchange information and ideas and have a fun time doing it.
I think we are pretty fortunate here as we have a great group and mix of people for which to extract advice from and to have a laugh with or at maybe at times lol.
