But why? Just stick to the old adage of " change your oil every couple of years whether it needs it or not".

Cam and tappets afaik. Modern engines generally are roller lifters or OHC.
Does that include push rods with hydraulic lifters? Oils are such a mine field. So hard to know what to use.
Yep all petrol has aromatics added because petrol doesn't have a distinctive smell.
Aromatic hydrocarbons are well known carcenogens. I remember an argument with a HSE 'guru' once who wouldn't let me bring a cleaner onsite due to possible Benzene. Told him he better ban all ULP cars as they had 5x as much. Wouldn't believe me till I showed him the msds.
Getting off the subject slightly, but when I drove to Sydney 2 weeks ago I got fuel at Marulan BP and filled up with Ultimate. I seriously noticed the difference! That stuff is by far the best. I had better throttle response & the motor ran smoother. I wish there was a BP within 50km of my place, they'd get all my business.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
I always run BP Ultimate.
But I was surprised to see on an episode of 5th Gear (UK, I know) performed worst in their testing.
I know wonder if that is relevant to our Australian supplied fuel?
