Its nice to have a $$ value on the sandman but lets not forget the other value. The value that you cant put a price on; which is the simple joy of having one of these great pieces of Australiana to play with. WE are all just custodians of these beasts. We need to have fun with them before we pass them on.
There is great value in having a car you can sleep in, go camping in, go to the drive in, carry stuff around in, and have all your mates sitting around off their heads in at music festivals. Especially when we're all on the wrong side of 40+... Its something no other car can replicate. Not in as much style anyway!!
Remember to enjoy em no matter how much theyre worth.

Good points and pics. It backs my perspective perfectly. As a professional consumer, i decide what i want to pay for goods or services. As a consumer I am considered, biased, influential and influenced. I might choose to pay ridiculous prices for a concert because i see value in the words 'so you think you can tell, heaven from hell, blue skies from pain'
The same applies to a car. If we love a car, its probably something more than the sum of its parts that evokes us.
Many view points...most i agree with, in one way or another. Does the availability of NOS parts to restore a Sandman factor into the equation of value??
I would be of the opinion that using NOS parts would help with value, I am grabbing NOS parts on ebay and I am also having genuine parts reconditioned like starter, alternator, radiator etc and also chasing period correct bolts and will have them re coated in correct zinc colours this is time consuming as you need to also find people who know what they are talking about then find said parts this is proving challenging but also rewarding a bit like a giant jigsaw puzzle.
