Is it auto or manual?
Do you do much city driving?

I have 308, turbo 400 and a 2.78 ratio.
My rolling diameter is 645 (245/60/15) and i do do about 2350 rpm @ 110km
It's a bit thirsty around down because of the extra hp needed to get things going.

if its auto and you like cruising and dont like traffic light derbies put the 2.78 in..i had a hq ute with a 253 for years with a 2.78 and it was great..
I agree. I used to have a HJ ute with a 350, TH400 and LSD 2.78. It was heaps better as an everyday driver (and not revving it's guts out on the F3), than any i've had with 3.08 or 3.36. It was still pretty quick - from memory it did a 15.9 or something like that over the quarter on street tyres at Manilla sprints (road surface) running like a dog as it kept running out of fuel at about the 350m mark due to a crook Quadrajet!
my sinbox van is 350 t400 and 3.08 and i am considering dropping back to 2.78...mind you its nice with the 3.08 but my foots gettin heavier as i get older....![]()
Adam is correct if it's an M20, but behind a V8 and M22 box a 2.78 is fine.
So Im thinkin now I definately have to change my diff! Not sure what ratio it is at the moment or how to tell, but at 100 Ks im doin about 3700rpms!
Its a 308 with a Turbo 400 auto!
Any suggestions would be welcome please!!
What size diameter wheels are you running?
