Man, I wish I had seen that Greg while I was in Dubbo. I am now home with 4 sandblasted and etch primed wheels with no paint.
Had the tyres pulled off and I have a 74,76,78 wheel and one wheel with made in the USA stamped on it. The 74 wheel is rat shit. Has had a crack welded up in the inner rim and I will use it for a spare. There is more than one way for a N66 wheel to be stuffed.
$25 to sandblast and etch prime each rim, $50 each rim(including the stuffed one).$300 total so far. Got to add paint to that when I get it.
They are the numbers i had and they could not find a mixing code for that paint, only a reference to it in old books. Is it me or the shop? I could not get the grey for the dash mixed up there either. Frustration levels are growing.

it wouldnt have helped you in dubbo anyways as i only put them up 10 minutes ago...its the shop dude..
the paint place i use had no troubles finding the colour just from my description of what i wanted..she found both lots and i opted for the early colour as it has flattening base added and the late colours do not...i didnt want shiny arsed rims.![]()
I am going to Sydneyhole on monday, anywhere you know I could try down there?
they know how to charge out there..i paid $15 each with etch prime..![]()

Just a word of warning on some of the overseas made GTS rims.
One of the SS owners from here in WA bought a set and brought them around to me to ask my opinion on them as he was not happy with them.
I will put it this way it looked like the were welded together by a 5 year old with his eyes closed.
Some sections were only half welded and it looked like they needed to increase the wire
feed speed in places and the amps in others.
There was no way I would fit them to any of my cars let alone a completely restored SS
like his is going to be.
Cheers Paul.
