    Radiator overflow bottles

    hi all,

im hoping to get some direction from the oracles as to what radiator overflow bottle my HZ should have been fitted with.

    RSP stock this one:

my good mates at the wrecking yard let me have a snoop out the back and find the factory bracket to mount this bottle on the inner wheel arch above the battery.

im not sure if the bottle above is correct (it seems like its just a re-printed windscreen washer bottle)

can someone please confirm or deny if this bottle and its location are correct for my 77 hz?

the blokes at my wreckers had said there were two bottles.

the one for A/C was a tall thin one that sat behind the grille apparently. either way, of the 20 or so HJ-Z's they had in the yard we could only find two brackets. and none of the cars had overflow bottles still on them.

Oz being i'll inevitably end up doing a factory AC installation this one is fine? is there even another sort?

my van has a radiator with an overflow tube so im leaning toward doing the correct thing and putting a bottle on it instead of letting it boil out onto the road.

Is this the bracket in this pic?
This is a HZ ute currently on evilbay

I have been thinking of doing a similar thing.
Does anyone have one they want to sell? Greg?

I've got one of those brackets. It was on the HZ when i bought it.
Bottle was R/S though, so it was chucked (i think).

Well that clarifies why our original Sandman didn't have one, and our 1980 HZ wagon had one, I remember filling the Reservoir bottle and not the radiator...the strange things you remember...:errf:

So Ski-man Rodney doesn't think it would be standard in your vehicle...
