That nice to know you still have your original purchased Sandman. Sounds like a love affair!
Love to see the photographic history Bob. From new through to today and beyond.

Depends how you determine what best is. The best one I know of is a one owner HJ Sandman van. Un-restored but good condition. To me un-restored is the most important part. It proves how how they were from the factory. Not how they were after a game of forum Chinese whispers.
I feel that looking into the future that these cars are going to be the best ones to have.
I also feel that the biggest downfall of this competition will be this..... If it came down to a ute and van,the van would win due to peer pressure.
Do we really need a "best" Sandman? No just enjoy the one you own.

100% I say the HZ Sandman ute in the Echuca Museum. 63,000km. Fully original. Mint! Yep. Need to get that lotto ticket!

I agree. Can't get better than as original as it.

I'll have to get to that holden place one day. A long way from here though.

I shot a series of panoramas through the museum in 2008.
Here is a link to one where you can see the Sandman Ute

I would have some shot right on top of the Sandman's but not online. I'll have a dig for it if your keen.

There were a series of really detailed photos on this site a few years ago. Might still be on here if you search.
Here is the link. Photos are gone sadly. http://www.mysandman.com.au/forums/s...etails?p=15967
