The proper premium performance models will always pull big $:

    HK-HQ GTS327/350 coupes
    HQ GTS350 sedan
    XU1
    L34
    A9X
    XR-XT GT
    XW-XY GT-HO
    XA RPO83
    VH E38 and E49 and earlier E55's.

The rest are the ones that will drop and have dropped off heaps already. Some of the lesser cars will retain value for various reasons, especially proper Survivor examples and there are those that will always remain popular like HK V8 GTS, XB-XC coupes etc. Early Holdens will always be popular, but the best ones remaining will rarely ever see the other side of $30k in today's money unless they are an exceptional car. HDT stuff will probably always have followers, but I can't see them seriously challenging the series production race car specials (1967-1972).

But there will always be good money in any Survivor or well restored Holdens, just look at what people will pay for nice HK's. If I found one i'd happily pay $25k for a really nice EH van.

Anyone remember the dark purple HQ 350 Coupe on Carsales for $79,000 or $89,000 recently? Two owners, originally some Holden managers car blah blah anyways I bumped into a guy whose mate bought it. Its coming to WA.... for the measly sum of $65,000. Just a smidge under the original ask ;/

That is a perfect example of good value for money, and investing in a car that shouldn't go backwards. You regularly see people paying good $ for lesser and far more common cars like SLR5000 or HQ GTS253/308 coupe that really need full restos done. Money like $25k+. By the time you restore the thing properly you'd have that HQ GTS350 coupe. unless you were able to do most yourself.
