Gts mirror position

Is it possible that the passenger side mirror sits further back than the drivers side.

That was my initial thought.
Then again, it could just as easily be the guy drilling the holes being quick and lazy. My GTS has original doors and mirrors on it too. I'll have to remember to check it next time I'm close.
