Would it matter if it was filtered?
We don’t have those legal problems here in New Zealand.
Because there is a hole in the base of the new plate but on the inside of the filter.
So it would be vented directly into the carby not through the new filter.

That venting would be fine. Use both. 5 minute job changing over
