If I had known and spent a couple of hundred and bought all this stuff new when I had my ute, I could sell it now and own an island up here. Most of this stuff was worth bugger all then.

yeah it would be reasonable if he did it as a buy it now at $19.99. he and his glove have backed themselves on the old auction scenario. i wonder if he uses his glove when putting fuel in the tank

why is it reasonable for him to do it as a buy it now?...isnt that what auctions are about..sold to the highest bidder?

if people want something bad enough then they will pay what they think is best for them...

i still dont understand your comment that he is a shyster for listing something at a reasonable price at an auction?

    shysters wear gloves too Oz

maybe if your comfortable with the general public paying 3-5 times what things are worth, you should look doing more business online... ebay maybe?

The guy listed it at 19.99, 5 different bidders took the price up to 103.50. So the general public (or at least the highest bidder) has decided it's worth $103.50.
I don't see how him spending time polishing a few spill trays and then putting them for sale makes him a shyster...

If you want to see a shonky auction, try making all your income with livestock this way and watch stock and station agents at work.
I reckon this seller has made good money for a daggie piece of stainless steel. I reckon the buyer probably should have rung Greg and got one there. Its these sort of deals that blow the budget of a resto.
More to the point, if you take a bit of care you don't need one anyway. I reckon if you just shake it then it doesn't dribble on the floor anyway.
