I'd just leave it how it is except fit sports instruments and an injected 304. Looks very cool with the wide stockies and hubcaps!

Im thinking about the injected motor but i wont to keep the column shift
Anyone ever seen column shift TH700 (4L60) in a HJ - WB?

It will only be off the road for less than a week when i do the dash and rust repairs as it's my daily driver for work now - providing no major issues arise
even when i do the motor rebuild (or swap) ill try and make it a weekend job

I'd imagine that the linkages would still go across in front of the gearbox.
Other alternative is to make it a cable shifter (Thought has crossed my mind for my van).
I've seen one done and have pics of it somewhere.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

There are a few ways to do it. You could modify a HQ-HZ coloumn shift TH400 setup to suit. Or have a look at what Brett Ferguson did here with a V6 and TH700R4 into a HZ.

That's awesome, thanks HK - looks like i may do the EFI then since it's so straight forward
I assume the TH700 fits the tunnel without any issues?

Yeah, it's pretty good for the money i spent and drives great but i really want to get the power steering fitted (im getting old)

Put it on the hoist today at my mates exhaust shop and had a good look under it
Couldnt find any rust in the chassis at all which is great and i was told it had a very small hole undr pass floor which youd be lucky to get a cigarette through
Thought i did find a slightly larger bit on the drivers side. Still nothing too much so alls good

Want to get an archway in in the next week or two as well if i can

Any tips from people before i try it?

Hi, not sure where you're up to, but the TH700 does not just slot in as the tunnels are different, i didnt do the conversion myself but i believe a hammer was used to mould the tunnel to make it fit, not a lot tho.

i hav an 83 wb, in case yr wondeirng
it's here and I love it!!
