Yep, i agree they DO suit vans.
I've got the small L88 scoop but i currently have the phase 5 scoop on the van ATM.

BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
Maysik, have you seen the pictures of my oldmans HX Sandman back in the day that i updated tonight? theres a picture in my Avatar
Cheers Brady
I've been toying with the idea of putting a bonnet scoop on my Sandman. Everyone I tell though steers me away from it. What is your opinion. Do you think by adding features to the body like a roof scoop, bonnet scoop, etc etc devalues a genuine Sandman?
PERSONALLY i wouldn't do the roof spoiler to a Sandman, but the scoop, well it's easy to change a bonnet. (That's why i have 2 bonnets, but thinking about a third for the L88 Scoop)

It's easy to get carried away. I did back in the 70's. This was a genuine Barbados Green HQ Sandman when I started. I still liked the L88 scoop though. It looked better before the monza nose went on to be honest.mw 3.jpg
Thanks agr071. I'll have a dig thorugh my album and post what I can find.
Hi Brady and all,
That L88 looks mighty fine. I like!
Just got to get the time now to do some measuring for mine on the bonnet. I was addament I'm putting one on anyway so I got a bonnet from Greg @ Classic Oz. Did not want to wreck my good one.
The bonnet and scoop are going to be a practical item as a hole has to go in the bonnet to accomodate an air filter thats going on top of the Holley. Not enough room under the bonnet for the filter set-up.
John.
Not just another garden veriety air filter either, I wouldn't bother with it if it was, i'd just keep the 3 inch filter thats on there now and not cut the bonnet and jam the L88 on the bonnet with no hole.
Got a Genuine Mr Gasket air filter from the states with the butterflys at the front and it has the Mr gasket logo imbossed. The thing is nearly 2 feet long. The other one I have got from the states is some long gone not seen for 30 years Edelbrock thingy. The edelbrock air filter seems to be the go at the moment though.
Agr071, I scanned in this photo of my van at a show in the late 1970s.Page0001.jpg
