that explains alot, i tried to convert a wb manual column to on the tree with parts from an hz column. it failed but it all went together so i couldn't work out why, all the parts looked the same but i never actually had them side to side.. is there anyone that knows of someone in adelaide that could rebuild me a steering column (with tree shift) that will work well on my wb? and it will be safe! i have four columns that they could work from. so I'm sure that there would be enough parts for them. WTF Happened (early tinkering days!)

mook,hz/wb 3 speed interchange is ok so there must have been another problem...i havent finished this article yet as there is a couple of things i wanted to picture and explain about what breaks in them and why people cant seem to get them to go back together..
if that doesnt help you i can sell you one and freight it over...

Great thread Greg , could you post a pic of the HX and HZ coffee pots together showing the different angles for ignition barrels.

Thanks for the pic of the ignition rods, I have put an HZ column in my HQ and couldn't remember which one I needed its been so long since I pulled them apart. :o
