Sounds like a 5900 or 5950 Custom grind.
I've sold a few over the years.

5950 is a roller - not flat tappet/solid. If you'd sold as many as you claim you'd know that.
That amount of cam lift means nothing in itself. The real question is what ratio rockers are you using to give you what lift at the valves? Very interested to find out what heads and how much of the original 4V valves are left in there as there is no way 2.19" and 1.71" are ever going to fit together in a cast iron 308 head even if you try to fill and counter or offset bore the guides (which never lasts long - we tried this numerous times and it never worked well).......$8000 spent on porting and head work...
..... Heads ford 4v valves....
.....Ford roller rockers....
......680thou lift...
Nice numbers....

Dave.

The rockers are 1.63 as I had the rocker covers of today and checked them out..
This motor made 500hp in a LX torana approx 2yrs ago, don't ask me how, when and what.. There are dyno sheets to prove this!
I will have it running and tuned up then put on the dyno myself hopefully by the end of the month and will be quite happy to share the number and dyno sheet.
Cheers
What is your problem? Mate, I knew these number and what they were off the top of my head after 17 years of running my own speed shop.
I didn't go back and read and study what tappets Tenille was running, I simply answered a question that was raised with my thoughts.
Pull your head in, and respond with some politeness. You really seem to have a bee in your bonnet and your targeting the wrong person.

You're absolutely right and I'd rather post this here than hide behind message no-one would see. I had mistaken your log-in for someone else who recently got on here and stirred-up a storm knowing full-well they would get a reaction. For that I unreservedly apologise to you for any angst I have caused you as a result of mistaking you for that person.
I'll flick you a PM to elaborate a bit.
Regards,
Dave.
