agree.... Possibly even later into the 90's. my first CB radio was a 23 ch ssb Cobra in 1976. In 1978 I got one of the new 18 ch CB's, a Pierce Simpson Super Panther ssb. To licence it for a year was $25. In 1986 it was in my VB Commodore when it was stolen and they nicked the CB. I replaced it with a new 40 ch ssb Pierce Simpson Super Panther. I've still got it somewhere in my container I believe.
late 70's to early 80's would have had the old am ssb 23 or 18 channel CB's..... No UHF back then.

I think Absinth & wbute are correct. I have just gone back to the emails that I got from the team manager and he makes reference to a 27 meg CB radio. The owner of the No.17 Commodore finally found the original radio this morning and emailed me thru the make and model of the radio I assumed it was a UHF. My mistake.
