The problem was that people were selling a $100 item for $1 and charging $99 for shipping. You can only blame your fellow users.
eBay is a business, they're in it to make money. You can choose what you want to buy so if it's too expensive, don't buy it.

I agree here. They cant offer the service for nothing. Look at the amount of chinese goods that are listed at 99c with $20 postage to get around the fees.

I too like eBay but I still think it is unfair to include final value fees to include total price plus postage. I have tried to keep postage to a minimum on stuff I list and sometimes have been out of pocket by a dollar or two. I realise that some sellers increase postage costs to increase their profit and this won't stamp that practice out. It will only cost the seller more who will then in turn pass it on to the buyer. Surely eBay's rating and feedback system can make all aware of the rip off sellers and help combat this problem. To me it just seems another way for eBay to increase revenue.
