Barbados Green, Purr Pull, Indy Orange or Black.
HQ colours or not, they are MY favourites and what I would do if it were mine, but as a lot of others have said it's your van, you have to live with it. You are building it for YOU, not anyone else (not even your Wife). If you like Barbados Green, then paint it Barbados Green (with a black interior).

I think you lucked in with the original colour.
I agree, chrome yellow is the go, since its the original colour. If it was just a white van then any of the above colours are tops. Azure, orchid, Aquamarine
Put me down for going with the plates too... because they are a reasonable colour.
If it was Willow I would paint it Orchid as my fav '74 HQ Colour.

Wow, thats actually not a bad colour
My HZ is that color. I can't put up photos easily but if you have a look in my album you can see how it looks. That paint is 10 years old though.
