I put one away 15 years ago and recently got it out and the top is now floppy- very disappointed. Broken internally above the spokes on both sides. Looks perfect, makes me wonder how many on ebay are like this, I wouldn't buy one unless I saw it in person. Anyone any ideas what would cause this?
I reckon either a crash and the huge weight that's transferred to the steering wheel or when they are pulled off incorrectly. That are a weak design it seems. Maybe when the spokes were welded to the rim it weakened them too?
Surely there must be a lot of people out there that have broken them that could tell how they did it????
