I agree, but there are a number of clubs that are currently registering cars with almost identical mods, claiming that they are "period modifications". I attended a show a year ago where an FC Holden sedan with a 186 with triple SU's, (so I'm presuming an HR front end) and M21 box with wide chrome wheels, lowered (really lowered) suspension and custom paint was on NSW Historic rego. I asked the owner how he could possibly get a "Street Machine" on Historic rego and he just laughed and told me it was a matter of "who you knew" in his club.
After checking out some other cars from his club there seemed to be a pattern.....

Certainly will help with the new scheme in January, I don't think all mods will require engineers certificates.
