    pretty sure its the same rack on mad max's hj.Being new to the forum i dont want to rehash old threads but was max's van a genuine sandman? i have heard yes have heard no.

    I'd always thought it was (obviously modified). The GTS guards, dash, steering wheel and full console being good pointers. I could never see a shot of the headlining (the clincher) to determine for sure, maybe you've got a bigger, clearer TV than me!

    Mad Max's van wasn't a Sandman but I remember hearing that it was the original Tangerine Dream, could have been misinformed.

    NB just googled the Mad Max van and Tangerine Dream, pretty sure they are two different cars

    This thread isn't to do with the rack for sale on Facebook is it?

    No it wasn't, although that doesn't detract from it's obvious fame.
    It was owned by a guy that worked with John Evans, the owner of Tangerine Dream. Originally John's van was going to be used in Mad Max, but it was involved in an accident prior to filming, so they grabbed this one and the rest is history.....
    Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
