Some one said recently when I told them the colour I was thinking of painting my van (Panama Green) was a "Sandman only" colour and that Sandmans were only built at the Elizabeth plant.
Sandmans were basically a GTS van (meaning the hand GTS suspension and everything). When I pointed out that they were also made at other palnts (Acaia Ridge etc...) and reeled off a few colours -correct me if Im wrong, Cotillion, Mint Julep, Absinth yellow, Tuxedo black etc.....I was told "***k up, you wouldnt know what your talking about, shut up or Ill belt ya, Im right you know nothing, your a stupid idiot if you think thats true" I then laughed in his face and said "do your research" and left it at that, I am not an "expert". cripes, what I know about panel van or Sandmans you could write on the back of Christopher Skase's tax return....this was another of those "experts" who do nothing but howl derision at those who challenge what they have ben spruiking for however long. It makes me laugh sometimes! At least no one here is like that.

Ok thats my rant, im getting off the Soapbox now!

i had a HZ GTS in the 80s and was always correcting people about them not being Monaros

when i had a Monaro (2003) i was alwats correcting people that they weren't 350s

then there's all the people with different ranges of Holden V8 engine powered cars who claim their model came standard with 4-bolt bottom end - the list just goes on and on

Sorry, this may be a dumb moment, but didn't the Monaro V2 CV8 come with the Gen3 5.7 V8 which pretty much was like a 350 Chev.

Yes V2 had a 5.7L Gen3. But it was defintely not 350ci (about 346ci), and no more a Chev engine than a Holden 304/350 engine was a Chev engine! The last Holden to be fitted with a Chevy engine was a HQ. As far as I know the last Holden badged vehicle to befitted with a Chev engine (a Gen II) was the Suburban.

...and how many times have people asked where my van came from? Because they/their mate/father etc used to own it. Well, if it's not the same van, WHOA, cause theirs was the same colour/engine/interior/wheels hahaha It's quite funny if you lead them up the path until they're just openly lying.
