Kicking Abbott will do no good, would be like kicking Obama for the Manhattan Project. This scenario has been developing for years.

One sector that hasn't got much of a mention in this whole affair is the union movement. The auto workers unions are very strong (read militant) & it goes without saying that these large manufacturing plants are very unionized working environments. Some of the wages & conditions there are unheard in the real world.

Some of those enterprise agreements are a little over generous.

If these guys were working at say 10-20% above award wages (instead of the gravy train that there on currently) Holden & Toyota wouldn't need handouts to survive at all.

Yep, well done to all those people who purchased the imports. You all should be ashamed.

Blaming the wrong people. It those who purchased the imports who are ultimately to blame. It's the greed and want factor.

Same as what was going to happen anyway. 2016 was earmarked as the death of the RWD Commodore.
Holden is NOT closing, it is just no longer going to manufacturer in Australia. Holden dealers will still be full of "Holden's" they just won't be made here.
Re-badging of other GM produts. I.E: Volt, Colorado, Cruze, Malibu etc Who knows the Commodore badge could be wacked on some other GM product manufactured elsewhere. Been going on since the HB Torana (Pommy), Gemini (Jap).

    100% on target Byron.

I've said it before, it will take a world war to set things straight again. How embarrassing is that? Nothing has been learned from history!
