If someone offered me a mint VB SL/E 5.0L auto or manual for $12k i'd buy it. This is roughly what they were new. None of these are muscle cars though including HZ GTS or V2 Monaros. The proper Aussie GMH muscle cars (HK GTS327 through to LH L34) will always be worth good money, maybe not what they were at their peak but still will always be wanted. Until there is no fuel maybe.

ive said this before but the whole muscle car collectable cars days are just about over
have a look how many 2 door commodores ( Monaros) are for sale the markets flooded with them
    and there not selling
people have to put roofs and food in front of toys
the worst is yet to come mark my words

I agree with you val, you can see prices dropping, same cars for sale for months, those prices aren't there.

Roofs and food first, toys last, for sure.

I wouldn't buy a car as an investment to make money, and definitely not a new one. Too risky, with the old ones you could get lucky on a price boom or still loose. That said if I was after a car to enjoy for a few years (with a view to either not loosing much or perhaps making some if I'm lucky) I'd buy an old car over a new one anyday. Almost all new cars loose around 50% in the first 5 years guaranteed, makes the troughs the old cars go into seem minor. Except if you paid $800K for a HO in '07 that is.

House prices are soaring in Sydney and Newcastle but I agree this situation is shaky. This doesn't really affect the proper collectable cars that much though, only the lesser stuff. Lots of top notch cars sell outside the open market too so prices are hard to judge.

Dave, what's the go with the avatar? Is this a hint?
    The 'Lowndes' are numbered

Don't worry Flamingo, Tonsie will fix it.

Still a minority. Not too much of their "limited" product ever was, and the total builds are often wrong too.

Yes disappointing if this is so. Pretty stupid also, I mean how hard is it? Think Ford Falcon Cobra vs LE Monaro.

I doubt that. Just a SS Ute (maybe SSV Ute).

Yep, but I was hoping it was numbered to match the car. Without it the value and colectability just won't happen.
